An Introduction to Xuefeng Park
宿迁市雪枫公园建成于2007年9月，占地320亩，位于宿迁老城区大运河畔，处于京杭大运河和古黄河两条城市景观廊道的围合区，是为纪念以彭雪枫将军为代表的抗日民族英雄而建设的集纪念瞻仰、爱国主义教育、国防教育及旅游休闲等多功能于一体的城市公园。曾先后荣获“国家AAAA级旅游景区”、“全国红色旅游经典景区”、“江苏省全民国防教育基地”、“江苏省廉政教育基地”、“江苏省党史教育基地”等。
Xuefeng Park was completed in September 2007, covering an area of 320 acres, located in the old city of Suqian on the banks of the Grand Canal, which belongs to the enclosed area formed by two urban landscape corridors—Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and the ancient Yellow River. Such a city park is built to commemorate General Peng Xuefeng as the representative of the Anti-Japanese War heroes, which multi-functions as a set of memorial viewing, patriotism education, national defense education as well as tourism and leisure, etc. It has been awarded “National AAAA Grade Tourist Attraction”, “National Red Tourism Classic Attraction”, “Jiangsu National Defense Education Base”, “Jiangsu Incorrupt Government Education Base” and “Jiangsu Provincial Party History Education Base”, etc.
公园分为纪念瞻仰、水景游览、励志教育和配套服务等四大功能区，围绕主轴线规划布置了“一馆、一塔、一湖、两亭、三桥、四座雕塑、六个广场”，并以彭雪枫将军的革命历程为主线，通过长征路、将军大道等道路，将九月湖、飞骑桥、彭雪枫纪念馆等主要景点有机串联，构成了公园的景观体系。
The park is divided into four functional areas: memorial, water tour, endeavourers education and supporting services. Arranged around the main axis are “one museum, one tower, one lake, two pavilions, three bridges, four sculptures and six squares”. Peng Xuefeng Memorial Hall and other major attractions are organically linked, forming the landscape system of the park.
